Celebrate marriage!
Welcome and Congratulations!
My name is (Elizabeth) Darryl Meffan and I am a fun, fresh and lively Civil Marriage Celebrant, living and operating in Brisbane. I just love being a marriage celebrant – I help my couples make the most important moments in their lives really special.
My wedding ceremonies are moments of light and happiness and are absolutely unique to each couple. No two are the same, because no two couples are the same. Personal and intimate, fresh and engaging, your ceremony will be all about you.
It would be my absolute honour, to work with you to create a ceremony that is a meaningful and true reflection of your style as a couple and full of the colour and fun that all celebrations should have.
If you feel I may be the celebrant for you, please contact me to arrange an obligation free meeting and quote.
I can't wait to meet you!
Whether you are celebrating a new life, a lived life or the joining of two lives, I will create a ceremony that is as unique and as individual as you are. Your celebration will encompass all of your personal values, beliefs and wishes and be a stress free, joyous and memorable day for you, your family and your friends.
Weddings
Life is full of important milestones. Your wedding will be one of the most memorable days of your life! No two couples are alike and, as such, I will help you to create a unique ceremony to celebrate your love and commitment to each other.
Ceremonies can be as simple or as elaborate as you choose and as modern or traditional as you feel comfortable with. Leave the legal stuff to me. Don’t worry about anything. And please – enjoy the moment – it is all yours!
Renewing of Vows
A new beginning? A turning point? Or just because you feel like it? There are many fabulous reasons for holding a Renewal of Vows ceremony…perhaps you were married overseas and want to re-create some of the magic for your family and friends back home or maybe you are celebrating a significant wedding anniversary and you want to publicly or privately re-affirm your love and commitment to each other after all these years.
These are ceremonies just for the two of you, with no legal requirements, written and performed with true celebration in mind! Make it romantic. Make it reflective. Make it fun.
Funerals
Losing someone you love is a time of intense personal grief. I can help you to create a service that expresses your loved one’s life journey with dignity and humanity.
I will listen to the stories and memories of your loved one that you would like to share at their funeral. Working with you, I will weave together the words that express the vibrancy and depth of your loved one’s life. I can help you write the words you may find difficult to write and I can speak the words you may not be able to say. I will be with you every step of the way at the funeral service to help guide the proceedings and offer you any support you may need.
I will create a ceremony that lives on in the hearts and minds of your families forever.
Commitment Ceremonies
Commitment Ceremonies are a significant celebration for couples who are either unable to marry under Australian law or who simply wish to acknowledge the importance of their love and commitment to each other in a meaningful way.
Commitment ceremonies are all about the two of you. We have no legal requirements to meet, no rules, and no limits to the way you choose to declare your love to each other.
Naming Ceremonies
New life brings such joy and is a real cause for celebration. Naming Ceremonies give families a chance to publicly welcome their new member, acknowledge special people in the baby’s life, to ask for support from family and friends and to express their commitment to his or her upbringing.
Music, poetry, the planting of a tree, the naming of guardians, the lighting of a candle, presentation of a special gift, the reading and writing of wishes for the special child – any or all of these can be performed to mark the occasion.
Every great love, starts with a great story...
"I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours. ”

The not so serious side of Darryl!
My original profession was as a Registered Nurse. I love to take care of people! During my career I was fortunate enough to have spent many years working as a contract agency nurse in Rural and Remote areas. Not only did this allow me to see so much of this beautiful country, I also got to work alongside some truly amazing people and met some very memorable “outback “ characters.
The loves of my life include my wonderful family, my treasured friends and without a doubt, chocolate!!!!
I love to learn and experience new things, no matter what the subject matter and at present am studying Cert IV in Patisserie. (Thankfully I chose a subject that totally satisfies my “sweet tooth”!!).
My greatest passion is travelling. I have an adventurous spirit and will try anything (as long as it doesn’t involve heights!).
I enjoy British T.V. especially the comedies. My favourite of all time being The Vicar of Dibley – What else of course!
So now you know a bit about me! I can’t wait to meet you and would be truly honoured to be part of the biggest celebration in your life together.
